Malicious IP Addresses

Gimkit uses IP addresses once used by other websites.

Gimkit is a small company (just 2 of us on the engineering side). As such, we don’t have the resources to manage our own servers. We use third-party hosting providers and rent servers from them.

We do not have any control over the IP address assigned to the server we rent. Additionally, our hosting provider does not provide us with an IP range. Even if they did, we would advise against utilizing it as you would be unblocking non-Gimkit websites.

Your security software may flag our IP addresses as malicious.

This is because our game servers use IP addresses given to us by our hosting provider, and some of those IP addresses have been used for malicious activity in the past.

Gimkit is not malicious.

Gimkit’s game servers and IP addresses are safe while being used by Gimkit and your information is protected even after we are done with them.

We take security seriously and follow federally mandated security measures to protect your data. We never store any personal information on our game servers and no connection to our game servers is kept after we’re done using them.

Domain-level unblocks.

To ensure Gimkit works properly, you must add a domain-level unblock in your firewall. You can find the list of domains to unblock here.
