Frequently Asked Account Questions

This article contains answers to the questions we get most frequently about Gimkit accounts. Don't see the answer you need? Let us know and we'll add it!

How do I access my receipts?

To find your receipt, go into the Settings section of your Gimkit account: https://www.gimkit.com/settings

From there, click on "Plan & Billing" in the left panel.

You should see a list of charges. Click the charge you want and you'll be to view/DL/print from there.

Can I delete my account?

You can delete your Gimkit account at anytime.

To delete your account, we'll need your Support Token to verify account ownership.

To learn more, log into your account and visit the Settings section of your account.

From there, click "Danger Zone" and then "Request Account Deletion."

What is my Support Token and how do I access it?

Your Support Token is a unique ID we use for security purposes to verify account ownership.

We may ask for your Support Token at different times when helping you with your account, including account deletion requests and data requests.

Your Support Token is available in the Settings section of your Gimkit Account under the "Account" section and "Support" drop-down.

Can I change the email address associated with my account?

We don't have an easy way to do this currently for security reasons.

If you need to change your email address, please email us from your old email address and then again from your new email address asking for the switch.

How do I reset my password?

You should be able to reset your password from the link on our login page below the login button.

Why does Gimkit charge for Pro Subscritpions?

The limitations of Gimkit Basic are 5 kits and one edit per Kit. Deleted Kits do count toward the Kit limit. We've designed Gimkit Basic so you can experience Gimkit and try it out for a period of time, but the Kit cap and edit limit nudge you toward signing up for a Gimkit paid plan.

We nudge you toward one of our paid plans because we need to pay for the costs associated with building and maintaining Gimkit. The deleted Kit rule discourages removing Kits from the community pool, since all Kits are public and available to anyone.

Gimkit was created by a high school student. When he launched Gimkit, he included a paid option because he needed to pay for the servers Gimkit ran on. Today, Gimkit's paying subscribers ensure that he can continue to work on Gimkit beyond high school (Josh graduated June, 2019).
We believe we can build a better product and help more students and teachers if we're able to work on Gimkit for a sustained period of time. To do that, Gimkit needs financial support. We don't want to be in the business of selling your attention or data to advertisers, so the best way for us to keep Gimkit running is with your help, through paid subscriptions.

Thank you for your support in helping us build and maintain Gimkit, now and for the future!

How do I cancel or upgrade my Gimkit Subscription?

You can cancel your Subscription or upgrade anytime by going to the Settings section of your account and clicking on Plan & Billing in the left panel.

Canceling your Gimkit Subscription will turn off Auto-renew and keep the Subscription running thru the time you paid for. Learn more about canceling your subscription and how to do it here.

What happens to my Kits when I upgrade/downgrade to/from Gimkit paid Subscriptions?

No matter which Gimkit plan you move to, you'll keep all of the Kits, Assignments, Classes, Classes, and Seasons you've created.

What are Gimkit's Subscription options?

We offer two Gimkit paid plans:

Gimkit Pro - Annual
Gimkit Pro Pass - Monthly

Gimkit Pro is our annual Subscription. Gimkit Pro is automatically billed once a year at $59.88.
Gimkit Pro Pass is our monthly Subscription. Gimkit Pro Pass is automatically billed monthly at $9.99.

Both Gimkit Pro and Pro Pass have the same benefits over Gimkit's free plan:

Create unlimited Kits
Edit your Kits as much as you need
Create Audio questions
Upload images

What's the better deal, Gimkit Pro Pass or Gimkit Pro?

Gimkit Pro will save you money over Pro Pass if you plan on using Gimkit for more than 6 months out of 12.

Pro = 12 months for $59.98 total; 6 months X $9.99 Go = $59.94 total
